So many entrepreneurs are unnecessarily suffering with their finances because they don’t have financial systems in place to ensure profit. My Story

My story began over 20 years ago when I set out to become a CGA with two small children at home. Being a woman in a male-dominated industry was not without its challenges but I gained my CGA designation and spent many years working my way to become a Partner at an accounting firm in Goderich, Ontario. 


On paper, I had reached the pinnacle of success, but inside I wanted to serve my clients more. I saw clients who were struggling to create profitable businesses and I wanted to help. It’s a general misconception that that’s what tax accountants do, help you become more profitable, but in reality, that was outside the scope of what a tax accountant typically does.


But then I started thinking… what if it wasn’t? What if I could help my clients not only with their accounting and bookkeeping but also support them with their financial systems? What if I could help them create more financial stability, profit and wealth?


In 2017, I left my very certain partnership (GASP! It was TERRIFYING) to launch my own business. But leaving an almost guaranteed success for something so uncertain, unproven and uncommon made me question my sanity, and yet I felt this pull I could not ignore.

I dove in and spent a year researching how I could help my clients increase their profit. I took every course, read all the books and devoured everything that was available. I was committed to finding practical and lasting solutions that would help entrepreneurs create financial clarity and freedom. 


That’s when I discovered Profit First, a financial system created by Mike Michalowicz. The mission of Profit First is to eradicate entrepreneurial poverty and I was inspired and passionate to do the same! I became an Advanced Certified Profit First Professional. 


I implemented Profit First in my own business and working with clients to become more profitable and pay themselves more. When I went over the numbers with clients, looking at where they started and where they were now, the results my clients were seeing were mind-blowing.

But inside my own business, I was hitting a roadblock. I understood the strategies but I couldn’t make myself do certain things. I would spend hours and hours going over my goals and could see the steps I needed to take, but I felt paralyzed and I wouldn’t take action. At that time, it was a fear of failure that kept blocking me - or lack of belief in the value I could provide which was leaving me trapped in mind drama. 


This led me to my own personal development journey and I started working on my mindset. The more I worked on my mindset, the more my numbers changed and with so much less drama. I didn’t have to white-knuckle my business anymore. I learned to develop self-trust and self-compassion. I saw the benefits of working on mindset and I wanted to bring these to my clients as well. 


In 2023, I completed a year-long training to become a Certified Life Coach and I’m proud to now offer clients mindset coaching when that’s what’s standing in the way of unlocking their true potential. 


Strategy is part of the equation but mindset is everything else. I offer help and support with both and this is part of what makes my services so different and impactful in the marketplace.
